New fabrics in the store, courtesy of P&B Textiles. They are my "go to" source for quality white on white and cream blenders. All of which don't photograph well! I have a nice selection of whites and creams, but you'll have to come in to see them (even one snowflakes print). This pretty backing came in the delivery with the whites and creams. It's a "Color Weave" backing, 108" wide, also from P&B Textiles. The price is $18.99/yard.
It's an eclectic mix, for sure! I've chosen some books that interested me, and I hope they interest YOU too.
I had the pleasure of meeting Victoria Findlay Wolfe while visiting NYC last spring. Here is her new book. I've already tried out a braid quilt!
Six inch quilt blocks have gotten VERY POPULAR. I'm participating in The Splendid Sampler sew-along myself. Lori Holt's two books have been run-away hits. You could mix and match any of the delightful little blocks from these books.
Last, but not least, two more that I just thought looked fun and interesting:
Pamela Zimmerman has offered to teach a class at Cotton Fields. She is a talented and nationally recognized fiber artist, who just happens to live in Washington. You KNOW I like to try things that are different ....... the choice of projects is between a cuff and a necklace. The class price would be approx. $50 for the necklace or $70 for the cuff. Most supplies are included.
Pamela was playing the "what if" game ...... the cuff and necklace on the left were made from selvages and the cuff and necklace on the right were made with torn fabric strips.
Please get in touch if this is something that interests you. We will set a date for early to mid-November.
Oh, my goodness! I was expecting a run-of-the-mill batting delivery this morning and here's what arrived instead. From Benartex, a collection called "Here Comes the Sun". It features some beautiful sunflowers and blenders in teal, gold and green. The first three here also have metallic accents. All are priced at $12.29/yard.
Several years ago, I carried a line of fabric called "Backyard Bandits" by Fabri-Quilt. I had skunks, rabbits, raccoons, foxes, squirrels, and possums. I made this quilt, from a pattern by "Quilts with a Twist".
41" x 41"
This is a cute quilt and it was fun to make. But I have too many! Having a quilt shop is a great excuse for trying out a lot of different patterns and fabric and making small quilts. Time to share a few of them!!!
If you are interested, give me a call at 252-948-0372. The quilt doesn't have a hanging sleeve, but I would be glad to add one if you wish.
*SORRY, I no longer have this fabric line or this pattern in the shop.
