Oh, my goodness! I was expecting a run-of-the-mill batting delivery this morning and here's what arrived instead. From Benartex, a collection called "Here Comes the Sun". It features some beautiful sunflowers and blenders in teal, gold and green. The first three here also have metallic accents. All are priced at $12.29/yard.
Several years ago, I carried a line of fabric called "Backyard Bandits" by Fabri-Quilt. I had skunks, rabbits, raccoons, foxes, squirrels, and possums. I made this quilt, from a pattern by "Quilts with a Twist".

This is a cute quilt and it was fun to make. But I have too many! Having a quilt shop is a great excuse for trying out a lot of different patterns and fabric and making small quilts. Time to share a few of them!!!
If you are interested, give me a call at 252-948-0372. The quilt doesn't have a hanging sleeve, but I would be glad to add one if you wish.
*SORRY, I no longer have this fabric line or this pattern in the shop.
Last week, Cotton Fields got a new computer. Not because I wanted to, but because the 2008 model just quit working. Not an expense I was anticipating. I had an idea that might help. For four days this week, I'm holding a
Thanks to everyone who came to shop and visit during the anniversary sale. After taking the weekend to recover, I had just about finished straightening up the shop when the UPS truck pulled into the driveway. Look at the fabulous batiks that just arrived from California:
The 2017 Row by Row Experience has just begun. Visit any participating shop and receive a FREE pattern for one 36" row. Collect the patterns and make a quilt. The first one to return a finished quilt of 8 or more rows to each shop wins a beautiful bundle of 25 fat quarters!!!
OF COURSE most shops will offer patterns with fabric kits to tempt you. Most shops also offer fabric license plates with cute sayings.
This year, Row by Row Jr. has been added - specially designed rows for young quilters 6-14 years. When Jr. quilters return to a shop with a finished project of one or more rows, they will receive a ribbon and certificate to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Row by Row Experience lasts from June 21 until Sept. 5.
Take a look at the SCHEDULE page - some new things have been added. On July 29, learn to make Lucky Stars. This is an old Fons and Porter pattern, I made it years ago, sold the quilt (without taking a picture - don't do that!) and want to do it again. It's really fun, can be made from your stash or a layer cake and a contrasting color for the strips. Come join me! Class starts at 10 AM and only costs $20.
Last year, Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson launched a project online where they posted two quilt block patterns a week. At the end, the patterns were put into book form, so here are all 100 patterns:
Cotton Fields is going to host a "Sit & Sew" on the 3rd Saturday of each month, beginning July 15 at 10 AM. Participants just need to purchase the book. We will make some of the patterns or all of the patterns, sharing tips and the blocks we have made so far.
Call Cotton Fields if you'd like to order the book.
Last year, I think I had too much "classic' or "traditional" Christmas. Don't worry, I still have some pretty poinsettias left over. THIS YEAR I was looking for fun prints. From the "All Things Christmas" collection from Red Rooster Fabrics:
