WAY last fall, I posed a challenge to my quilting friends. $10 bought a kit for the "Flower Power" Challenge. Inside was two half-yard pieces of "challenging" fabric and an instruction sheet.
Quilters were asked to make an ORIGINAL quilt using the two half-yard pieces of fabric, illustrating in some way the flower power/peace/love/spring theme. Any size, other fabrics could be added as long as the original two were included. Quilts were due before the start of the Romancing Eastern North Carolina Shop Hop which begins tomorrow, February 1. Viewers' Choice among the shop hoppers will determine the winner of a mighty nice gift basket.
Here are the Flower Power quilts, in no particular order. Makers' names will be revealed after voting is complete.
I appreciate the effort of these quilters! They range in age from 10 to 80. The winner will be announced on Sunday, February 13.
