Romancing Eastern North Carolina Shop Hop

Pandemic Version

This is our 16th year.  Each year as we plan, we try to do something new and different.  The Covid-19 pandemic has really changed things for everybody!

In order to go forward, yet keep thing safe, we have decided to hold the shop hop throughout the month of February.  Shoppers will have the fun of the hop but the stores won't be slammed full like they are in a typical shop hop.

What's the same?

Passports are $5.00, available beginning Nov. 1

8 Participating shops

A different shop hop special in each store

Extra goodies for "4-packs", shoppers who attend in groups of 4 or more in a recognizable group uniform

Grand prize drawing for those who visit all 8 shops

What's different?

Shops will operate their normal business hours, so plan ahead

No shop hop quilt :(

No shop hop bags :(

Shop Hop

Our 12th "Romancing Eastern North Carolina Shop Hop" begins this morning and runs through Saturday. Check out the Facebook page of the same name for details.

Meanwhile, MY shop is clean and neat and ready to go!  I haven't taken pictures inside the shop for a while, so now is a good time.

 

The classroom has been transformed to accommodate the shop hop quilt, demonstrations and other special displays. 

Shop Hop

Our 12th Annual "Romancing Eastern North Carolina Shop Hop" is just a little over a week away.  The dates are Wednesday, February 8 through Saturday, February 11.  We are busy making final preparations.  A custom batik has been created again this year - designed by Lori Richardson of Cotton Fields Quilt Shop and produced by Majestic Batiks of Corvallis, Oregon.  The shop hop fabric is a SECRET until the first day of the hop!  Four of the shops will be displaying quilts made with the special fabric.  

Our theme this year is "Let's Get Organized".  All of the shops will have free patterns for organizational items you can make (one per store). 

PRIZES are always important!  To enter the prize drawing, shoppers must visit each of the six participating shops and have their passports stamped.  This year our grand prize is a Foldaway Big Board AND an Oliso Iron.

After we draw for the grand prize, we will draw for the six gift baskets, one from each shop, value over $200.  The goodies are packed into a small oval Ghana basket like those you've seen at Cotton Fields in the past.  Here's a BEFORE  picture of all the loot:

We owe a lot of thanks to companies who have made generous donations, including Island Batik, P&B Textiles, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, Windham Fabrics, Brewer Sewing and Quilting Supplies, and Foust Textiles.

Then we'll draw for $50 gift certificates, one from each shop.  Each shop will also have daily drawings for smaller gift bags.  That's 37 prizes in all.  We hope you'll come see us.

It's almost time!

The 2016 Romancing Eastern North Carolina Shop Hop 

takes place February 3-6.

Six shops are involved:

     All About Quilting - Jacksonville
     Cotton Fields Quilt Shop - Washington
     New Bern Fabric Center - New Bern
     Sewing Creations - Greenville
     Sewing Solutions - New Bern
     The Quilted Butterfly - Morehead City

All of the shoppers who visit every store have their name added to our grand prize drawing.  The grand prize this year is the Stella Sky floor lamp.  Adjustable height, adjustable brightness, just a wonderful lamp for sewing and crafting!  (List price approx.$389.)

After the lamp drawing, we will also draw for one of six gift baskets STUFFED with prizes - books, patterns, fabric, thread (value at least $250).
